Ellie Elise | 17 Days Old | Pittsburgh, PA Newborn Photographer
Even though she slept for most of the session, Ellie woke up right before our prop pose and couldn't be settled back to sleep. In fact, the original plan was to put her in a bucket resting her head on her hands, but it's very rare that pose works with an awake baby. So this pose was completely unplanned and a great example of how my "plan" for poses always needs to be flexible.
The baby is always in charge! So since she was awake, I had to improvise and put this setup together that would be better for an awake shot. For being completely unplanned, I think it's super adorable, girly, and pretty--all the things I love about a newborn girl session!
Ellie was a deep sleeper! Not sure if you've ever seen a baby stick their tongue out and suck on it while fast asleep, but she kept doing that so I kept having to poke it back in. It was pretty amusing!
Mom especially loved the use of different headbands, outfits, and wraps in the studio. “It was nice meeting in the studio. Emily had a beautiful variety of outfits, bows, and backdrops I wouldn’t have had at my own home.”
