Juliet's Maternity Session | Pittsburgh Maternity Session | Hartwood Acres
When Juliet found out she was expecting her second boy and contacted me about maternity photos, saying that she was looking for outdoor images with a maternity gown and a flower crown, I was super excited because...gorgeous/all my faves! Then it occurred to me that she would hit the middle of her third trimester (32-36 weeks) during the month of February.
February. Outdoor. Session. In Pittsburgh.
Okay! I'm game! I've seen absolutely gorgeous maternity images taken in the snow. Just have never had the opportunity to try a hand at that myself. (Although, living in Pittsburgh now, I'm sure it's inevitable!)
As it turns out, the week of her photo shoot we had bizarrely crazy, global-warming-induced 70 degree weather. So no snowy images! But we still had a gorgeous session!
Doesn't she look simply stunning in that gown??
Unfortunately, when we got to the Hartwood mansion, they were doing construction on the grounds and had some areas roped off. So even though it was super muddy, we went exploring for other nearby backdrops and found this beautiful grove of evergreens.
Middle of winter shoots can still be beautiful with the right backdrop at the right time of day. Look at that gorgeous golden light hitting her in the bottom right image!
Because the location was slightly more limited than usual, we decided to do the 2nd half of her session as a lifestyle session in her home and were able to include her toddler. Here are a few of my personal favorites!
