Babies & Children Booking Guidelines

You will never have this day with your children again. Tomorrow they will be a little bigger than they are today. This day is a gift. Breathe and notice. Smell and touch them. Study their faces and little feet and pay attention. Relish the charms of the present. Enjoy today. It will be over before you know it.

Whether you have one baby or five, you’re here because you’re looking for a way to slow time down and remember this stage in your family’s lives forever. Every now and then you find yourself overwhelmed by such a strong mixture of emotions: nostalgia thinking about all of the incredible moments when your baby was younger, excitement and pride at everything they’re learning to do on their own, and the yin and yang of happy and sad that comes every time you think about them going off to college. (That’s not just me, right?)

My passion in life is being able to freeze time for other parents and to give them the gift of beautiful images of their babies that they can look back on and treasure for years to come. Let’s schedule a portrait session before these moments pass you by and your baby gets just a little bit older.

When to book a baby/child portrait session:

By Age:

Babies change so rapidly at the beginning of their lives, and then the changes (at least the physical ones) seem to slow down a bit.

When possible, I recommend every 3 months during the 1st year, every 6 months during the 2nd year, and then once a year after that. Think of portraits like clothing sizes; there’s a reason you have to buy a whole new wardrobe every 3 months the first year, then at 18 months, and then every year after that. If they’re growing big enough to need new clothes, you want to capture it!

By Season:

If you love the look of outdoor portraits, you may choose to schedule based on the season.

In Pittsburgh, I book outdoor sessions for kids from May to early November.
